For bone-in cuts and hard-shelled seafood we recommend 0.16 mm as a minimum and 0.20 mm for very sharp or heavy items. The PA layer provides the puncture resistance, but the geometry of the product matters too — flat bone-in cuts are lower risk than irregular shellfish. Send us your product details and we will specify a gauge and suggest a sealing width that has worked for similar applications.
PA/PE film heat-seals in the same temperature range as standard vacuum bag film, so most automatic chamber and continuous-belt machines accept it without settings changes. If you have a specific machine model, share it and we will confirm compatibility and supply a recommended seal bar temperature and dwell time with the first delivery.
Yes — the PA/PE structure withstands typical sous vide water bath temperatures up to around 80–90 °C for the sealing layer. For applications above that range, such as hot-fill or retort, the standard structure is not appropriate and you would need a retort-grade film instead. Tell us your cooking temperature and we will confirm suitability.
This film carries FDA 21 CFR 175 certification with migration test reports available on request, and EN 1186 migration testing has been carried out on the structure. That covers direct food contact for the US market. We do not hold a standing European declaration and will not claim one. We can arrange migration testing at an accredited laboratory — including one your buyer nominates — and issue the food-contact declaration against the order.
Supply artwork in AI, PDF or EPS format. We print by gravure for orders of around 10,000 pcs and above, which gives the best colour accuracy and per-unit cost. Below that volume, pad printing or silk screen is available for simpler designs. We send a colour proof for approval before the main run and guarantee no supplier identity or markings appear anywhere on the finished bag.
