Choosing the Right Shipping Mode
Flexible packaging is awkward freight: some of it is dense and heavy, some of it is light and enormous. The right mode depends on which one you are buying.
- Dense, heavy goods — stretch film rolls and PCR drawstring trash bags hit weight limits long before they fill a container. Sea freight FCL is almost always the lowest landed cost.
- Light, bulky goods — compostable mailing bags, PCR poly mailers and reusable non-woven shopping bags fill volume first. LCL consolidation works well below a full pallet load; above that, FCL usually wins on cost per unit.
- Time-critical restocks — air freight moves airport-to-airport in 5–10 days, consolidated or direct charter on request. Suited to high-value lines such as FDA-certified stand-up pouches where a stockout costs more than the freight.
- Samples and small batches — DHL, FedEx and UPS, tracked end to end, 3–7 days. This is how sampling normally ships while the main order is still in production.
Incoterms We Quote
You choose how much of the chain we carry. EXW hands over at our production base. FOB from Qingdao, Shanghai or Ningbo includes domestic trucking and export customs clearance — the most common choice for buyers with their own forwarder. CIF/CFR adds sea freight, with insurance under CIF. DDP is full door-to-door including duties, available worldwide through our forwarding partners.
If you are unsure, send us the destination and quantity and we will quote two or three options side by side rather than pushing one.
Documentation and Handover
Standard export documentation is prepared by us: commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or air waybill, and certificate of origin where required. Product-specific certificates travel with the shipment — GRS for recycled-content lines, OK Compost / ASTM D6400 / EN 13432 for compostables, FDA documentation for food-contact items.
Before anything leaves the factory you receive a pre-shipment photo report of the actual goods on the pallet, and one named account manager stays with the order through transit for claims, re-routes or a simple status check.
Production time comes before transit time: 15–20 days for standard unprinted stock, 20–25 days for custom printed orders after artwork approval, 25–35 days for large-volume programmes. Plan backwards from your required on-shelf date and talk to our logistics team early.
