Certifications & Compliance

Ask for the certificates. We send them.

Certificates are a screening document, not a secret — no NDA required. Tell us the product and the market you sell into and we will send the certificates that actually cover it, with the scope and expiry dates visible.

Three things most suppliers do not tell you

Compostable certification is the easiest place in this industry to be misled. Here is what we put in writing before you order.

Certified thickness is capped

  • Every compostability certificate names a maximum film thickness — it is not a blanket approval for the product family
  • Home compostable certification typically caps at 60–63 µm; industrial compostability runs 61–140 µm; BPI up to 143 µm
  • If your spec sits above the certified thickness we tell you before quoting, rather than after the container lands

Full-chain compostable certification

  • BPI certificates cover the resin, the film and the finished bag — three certificates, not one
  • Most suppliers can only show the finished-bag certificate, because they buy their film in
  • Full-chain coverage is what lets us certify a custom structure instead of only a catalogue item

PFAS declared on the certificate

  • Our BPI certification records no intentionally added PFAS and total organic fluorine below 100 ppm
  • That statement is printed on the certificate itself, so you can verify it without taking our word for it
  • Relevant for food-contact packaging sold into the US and EU, where PFAS limits are tightening fast

Regional regulations

Written for the market you are selling into

Compliance is regional. We build the specification against the destination rules from the first sample, not at the shipping stage.

  • United States — FDA 21 CFR food-contact compliance, state-level PFAS restrictions, BPI labelling for compostables
  • European Union — Regulation 1935/2004 and 10/2011, REACH, the Single-Use Plastics Directive 2019/904, and PPWR recyclability and recycled-content requirements
  • Japan — Food Sanitation Act positive-list compliance for food-contact resins
  • Australia & New Zealand — ARL labelling, FSANZ food-contact requirements, ABAP home compostable certification
  • Middle East — SASO, ESMA and GSO conformity for the Gulf markets
Verification

Do not take any of this on trust

Tell us when you are coming and we will walk you through a production base — extrusion, printing, converting and the QC lab. Third-party auditors are welcome on exactly the same terms, announced or unannounced.

Certificates prove a system was audited on a given date. A walk through the plant proves the system is still running. We would rather you checked.

Test reports, material declarations and patent documentation sit behind an NDA — certificates do not. If a supplier asks you to sign before showing you a certificate, that is worth a second look.

Book a visit or request the document pack and we will confirm within 12 hours.
