The PA outer layer handles sawn bone cross-sections substantially better than PE-only shrink film. For a typical 2–3 kg bone-in lamb leg with a flat-sawn femur cut, the 55 µm standard gauge is adequate. For heavier legs above 3 kg, or for cuts where the bone-saw leaves particularly sharp or splintered edges, we recommend 65 µm and optionally a bone-guard patch at the sawn end. Describe your cut and typical bone condition when ordering and we will confirm the specification.
Yes. Cheddar blocks, parmesan wedges and similar hard-rind formats present a similar stress profile to bone-in meat — concentrated load at corners and edges during stacking. The PA/PE structure handles this well. For very long-ageing applications where the block remains in the vacuum bag for 6 months or more, consider upgrading to the PA/EVOH/PE grade for enhanced oxygen barrier; plain PA/PE provides adequate puncture resistance but slightly lower OTR performance than EVOH-containing structures.
Both use the same PA/PE material structure and the same standard size range. This bag is specifically built for bone-in cuts and hard cheese where the bag selection needs to account for bone puncture risk and irregular product geometry. The practical differences when ordering are: consider a bone-guard patch option, specify the sharpest bone geometry, and size the bag with slightly more circumference allowance so the film wraps without stress-concentrating at the bone tip before shrink. If your product is boneless, the other listing covers the same structure in the same size range.
Yes. Any logo, certification mark or text can be printed on the bag in the gravure pass, including halal logos from recognised certification bodies. Depending on the certifying body, they may require proof of halal compliance at the film manufacturer level — raise this requirement at enquiry stage and we will provide the relevant documentation. The bag itself is a food-contact packaging material and does not affect the halal status of the meat inside.
FDA 21 CFR 177 food-contact certification is on file, issued June 2026 and valid to June 2027, and a copy goes out with each order. For any other market we do not hold a standing declaration. We can arrange migration testing at an accredited laboratory — including one your buyer nominates — and issue the food-contact declaration against the order. Specify the market and the required standard when you enquire and we will confirm the test regime and the timeline before you commit.
