Three grades run on the same flat-bottom format. PET/PE is the standard build and suits fast-turning dry goods. BOPP/VMPET/PE adds a metallised layer that blocks light and slows moisture pickup. Full aluminium foil laminate is the one to specify for roasted or ground coffee that sits in distribution for months, because it shuts out oxygen, moisture, light and odour. Add the one-way degassing valve with it so freshly roasted beans can release CO2 without drawing air back in.
Matte black is the most requested stock build, but any print colour runs on the same laminate and the same short-run digital lead time. A white matte, deep green or custom Pantone body uses the identical structure. For a truly opaque solid, gravure printing gives a denser and more consistent lay-down than digital — we will show you proofs of both on request.
Yes, provided the zipper and seal specifications are matched to a fine powder. We use a narrower zipper profile with a secondary top heat seal for flour and starch fills — this prevents the fine particles from working their way into the zipper track and degrading the reseal. Specify the product at enquiry stage and we will confirm the seal window before production.
Short runs use digital inkjet printing, which needs no cylinder engraving — artwork goes straight to the press. The film is cut from stock and the bags are made on a small bag-making machine. Gravure takes over once a design is settled and the run length justifies engraving a cylinder set, which is where the print quality on large solid areas also steps up.
The laminate is food-grade and the internal PE sealant layer is the only surface in contact with the product. The structure is covered by FDA 21 CFR 177 for the US market. For sale into the EU we arrange migration testing at an accredited laboratory — including one you nominate — and issue the declaration against your order, which is the document a European retailer will ask to see.
