The film is food-grade LDPE and the structure is covered by FDA 21 CFR 177 for US food contact. For sale into the EU we arrange migration testing at an accredited laboratory — including one you nominate — and issue the declaration against your order. For distributors selling bagged ice in regulated markets, tell us your target market at enquiry stage and we will confirm exactly what documentation ships with the first container.
The LDPE drawstring maintains its tensile strength at typical chest-freezer temperatures (around -18 °C). In very cold or brittle conditions, the string can stiffen slightly but should not snap under normal end-user pull force. If your distribution environment is unusually cold — for example an industrial blast-freeze facility — mention that and we will specify a more cold-tolerant drawstring material.
Flat in their cartons, indoors, off the floor and out of direct sunlight. LDPE itself is stable in storage, but sustained UV will slowly embrittle the film and heat above roughly 40 C can make printed layers block against each other so the bags tear as they are separated. The drawstring tape is the part to watch: kept dry and unstressed it stays soft, but a carton left damp on a warehouse floor over winter can leave the tape stiff and prone to pulling out of its hem on the first fill.
Yes. Each size is a separate SKU with its own film width and print layout, but both can be scheduled into one production booking and consolidated into a single shipment, which keeps the freight simple and gets both sizes onto the forecourt at the same time.
The bag is designed for single use in commercial ice retail — the drawstring can be retied, but there is no formal reseal mechanism and the film gauge is not optimised for repeated open-close cycles. Retail ice buyers typically discard the bag after use. If your application needs a genuinely resealable bag for ice transport or consumer reuse, we can offer a zip-top format instead.
