The standard build uses a kraft outer and a PE inner liner, which provides good moisture resistance for most dry tea grades. For high-value oolong, white tea or matcha — where oxygen pick-up significantly affects flavour within weeks — we recommend specifying an aluminium foil or VMPET inner liner to block both moisture and oxygen. Tell us the product and target shelf life and we will recommend the right barrier grade rather than defaulting to the lightest build that seals.
Yes. The window film is food-grade and conforms to the same inner-contact standards as the rest of the liner. Product does not directly contact the outer kraft layer or the printed surface.
Every shipment carries a food-contact declaration for the inner liner and the window film, issued against your order and naming the exact structure and ink system we ran, together with the production inspection record covering seal strength, zipper function and print colour against the approved proof. Where your importer wants migration testing on the finished pouch we arrange it at an accredited laboratory, including one you nominate, and the report is issued in your name rather than handed over as a generic certificate.
Gravure ink is pressed into the paper fibres rather than sitting on the surface, so even on textured natural kraft you get good tonal depth and sharp line work. Extremely fine reversal type (white text on a dark ground below around 7 pt) can break up slightly on heavy-texture kraft — we advise a minimum type size and will flag any risk areas on your artwork before we engrave the cylinders.
Yes. Window and no-window versions can be run from the same dieline with a minor tooling adjustment. If you have an opaque SKU (e.g. a blend where visual appearance is variable) and a window SKU (e.g. a whole-leaf premium) in the same range, we can supply both from the same base structure on a single laminate specification.
