Paper grade runs from 50 to 120 gsm. For a light 400 g tin loaf, 60 to 70 gsm carries the weight and folds neatly under a tin tie. For a large, irregular sourdough or a rustic loaf with a hard crust, specify 90 to 120 gsm: the heavier sheet resists the crust puncturing a corner and holds the bag square when a customer lifts it by the top. If you tell us the loaf weight, its dimensions out of the oven and whether it goes on a shelf or into a basket, we will recommend the weight rather than defaulting to the lightest sheet that fits.
The bag itself is a food-contact packaging material, not a food — it does not contain gluten. Whether it is appropriate for an allergen-controlled product depends on your own production environment and the claims you make on-pack. We supply food-contact declarations and can advise on material specifications; allergen management in your bakery is outside our scope.
Tin-tie closures are reliable for consumer reuse up to around 10–15 open-close cycles, which covers the life of most sliced loaves. For high-throughput deli counters where bags are opened and closed constantly by staff, a zipper insert or a press-strip closure is more durable; we can quote either as an upgrade.
Standard OPP and PET windows can develop condensation haze in a chilled cabinet, particularly when the bag moves between cold and ambient. If your product sits in a chilled display, we recommend specifying an anti-fog film for the window — it holds clarity at low temperature and is specified at artwork stage so the window panel is laminated with the right film from the start.
For a new gravure print we budget 15–20 days from artwork approval and deposit receipt to shipment of up to 30,000 bags. We send a digital proof for sign-off before plate-making, so build in a couple of days for your artwork review at the start. Rush options exist but depend on our press schedule at the time of ordering.
