The kraft body is paper-fibre, but the bag has a clear film laminate on the front panel to form the window. That composite structure is not accepted in standard kerbside paper recycling in most markets — it would need to go to a facility that can separate paper from film. If full paper recyclability is a requirement, we can discuss a format without the film window or with a water-based barrier coating, though both come with trade-offs in product visibility or moisture resistance.
Kraft paper breathes, which is exactly why it is the traditional bread-bag substrate — it lets steam escape from a warm loaf and keeps the crust crisp. A fully sealed plastic bag around a hot baguette would trap steam and make the crust soft within minutes. For artisan bread that goes directly from oven to counter, this format is the correct choice.
Yes. We supply plain brown or white bags with no printing, and your labels adhere well to both surfaces. Unprinted bags have no cylinder cost and can ship faster; they are a practical option for small bakeries or seasonal SKUs. Let us know if you want a label-registration panel or a specific position marked for sticker placement.
We build the bag to your product dimensions — there is no fixed stock size for baguettes. Send us the longest diagonal measurement of your baguette when placed diagonally, plus the width at the widest point, and we will size the bag so there is enough room to load without tearing.
Move up the paper weight and add the grease-resistant inner coating. At 50–60 gsm the bag is sized for a dry crusty loaf; for oil-enriched pastries we would normally specify 100–120 gsm with the oil-barrier liner, which holds the grease off the outer surface so the print and the window stay clean on the counter. Send us the product and a rough sense of how long it sits in the bag before it is eaten, and we will specify the weight and coating for you.
