The foil layer reflects radiated heat back into the food and slows heat loss compared with plain paper, typically extending holding temperature by 10–20 minutes depending on the portion size and ambient conditions. It is not the same as an insulated food bag — for long delivery runs above 30 minutes we recommend combining the foil bag with a thermal delivery pouch. For counter service and short-haul delivery it performs well for most hot-food categories.
No. The aluminium foil inner lining must not go into a microwave. If your product needs to be reheated by the consumer in a microwave, specify a PE-coated paper bag without the foil lining at the quotation stage — we can supply that structure with similar grease resistance but no microwave hazard.
Yes. Flexo printing on kraft accepts CMYK process colour and Pantone-matched solids up to 4 colours in a single pass. The natural brown of the kraft reads through light ink tints, which some food-service brands use deliberately for a craft or artisan look. For very dark backgrounds or full-bleed colour, white kraft is the better base — it gives closer colour accuracy and brighter contrast.
A standard greaseproof bag uses a silicone or chemical treatment on the paper to resist oil penetration; it keeps grease off the outer surface but does not retain heat. The foil-lined bag does both — the kraft outer handles the structural load and the printed surface, while the foil inner both blocks grease and reflects heat. For a food outlet where hot-holding is important, the foil-lined version is the stronger choice.
Keep them in the outer carton, off the floor and away from the fryer and the grill line. Kraft is hygroscopic: left open next to a steam or wash area it takes up moisture, goes limp and loses some of the stiffness that keeps a filled bag standing on the pass. The foil liner itself is stable, but a damp kraft outer will also print-mark more easily where bags are stacked. Draw down a day at a time into a covered dispenser at the counter and keep the bulk stock sealed.
