Any external (clamp) vacuum sealer that accepts standard roll or pre-cut bags will work — this includes FoodSaver, VacMaster, Weston, Nesco, Seal-a-Meal and most European counter-top units. The embossed channel pattern ensures air can be drawn out regardless of how the film is positioned in the sealer bar. The bags will not work correctly with chamber (bell) vacuum sealers, which require smooth film.
The PA/PE film is rated for sous-vide cooking at temperatures up to approximately 85–90 °C, which covers the range used for most proteins — poultry at 60–65 °C, beef at 55–60 °C, fish at 50–55 °C. For longer cook times or temperatures approaching 100 °C, confirm the exact conditions with us; a CPP-sealant or polypropylene inner may be needed at that range.
16C refers to the total gauge of both walls combined — it is a common commercial vacuum bag specification. At this thickness the bag handles normal chilled and frozen food products reliably, including boneless cuts and soft seafood. For bone-in cuts with sharp edges, we recommend moving to 4 mil (0.10 mm) or 5 mil (0.125 mm) to reduce the risk of a pinhole puncture during freezer storage.
Yes. The film is a food-contact grade held to FDA 21 CFR 177 and produced under BRCGS, HACCP and ISO 22000, which covers North American retail directly. For an EU listing we arrange migration testing at an accredited laboratory — including one your retailer nominates — and issue the declaration against your order. For retail consumer sale you will typically want gravure printing with branding and product information, which we lay out on the bag dieline and proof before the run. For foodservice and professional use, plain transparent bags are more practical.
We can state the film specification but not the food shelf life — that depends on the product's starting microbial load, your vacuum level, storage temperature and cold-chain integrity. As a reference, fresh chilled meat vacuum-packed under commercial conditions typically achieves 3–5 weeks at 0–4 °C; frozen vacuum-packed protein can hold 12–24 months without significant quality loss. Your food technologist should validate the specific shelf life for your product.
