The embossed channel pattern is the standard format that chamber-style and external suction vacuum sealers both rely on to draw air out. The vast majority of domestic and commercial models — FoodSaver, Caso, Hendi and equivalents — are designed for textured bags. If you have an unusual machine model, send us the make and we can confirm before you order.
The PE inner layer is BPA-free and suitable for sous vide at temperatures up to approximately 80 °C. For high-temperature sous vide applications above that range — some restaurant precision cooking runs at 85–90 °C — you should verify with your own trial, as the bag is not rated to full retort temperatures. The FDA 21 CFR 177 certification covers food contact at standard use conditions.
The 0.16 mm gauge is suitable for most chilled and ambient vacuum storage — portioned cheese, cured meat, vegetables and coffee. The 0.19 mm gauge is preferred where the bag will be frozen, repeatedly handled in a commercial kitchen, or used with bone-in or sharply edged products that could puncture a lighter bag. When in doubt specify 0.19 mm.
Yes. Gravure printing is available on the outer surface with up to 10 colours supported, while the inner embossed surface stays untouched so sealer compatibility is unaffected. Send the artwork together with the bag size and we will lay it out on the dieline and return a proof for sign-off before the run.
Vacuum packing typically removes 90–99% of the air in the bag, which slows oxidation and inhibits aerobic bacteria. Practical extension depends on the food, its condition at packing, and the storage temperature — we cannot issue specific shelf-life guarantees. Published food science literature suggests meat in a vacuum bag refrigerated at 0–4 °C lasts roughly 3–5 times longer than in an unsealed bag. Freezer burn is largely eliminated.
